MUNCIE – A Muncie man faces several charges related to break-ins at Ball State University.

Police arrested Mark A. Cassady, 28, on charges including burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Campus police recovered seven laptops when they served a search warrant at Cassady’s apartment Thursday. Four of the computers had been reported stolen in November, police said. Investigators also recovered cameras and computer equipment along with tags from two of the 31 iPads stolen from the BSU Teachers College during Thanksgiving break. Police said the stolen property was worth about $6,000.

Officers also found needles, morphine and marijuana in Cassady’s apartment.

Investigators believe he acted alone.
