Two-month meth investigation nets arrests in Miami County

MIAMI COUNTY – State police arrested three people following a two-month-long investigation into meth activity in Miami County.

Officers from the Indiana State Police and the Miami County Sheriff’s Department searched a home at 1955 W. 1050 South in Miami. Investigators said they found methamphetamine and material used to produce the drug.

Police arrested 51-year-old Everett Phipps, 43-year-old Julia Scott and 45-year-old Kelly Crouch—all occupants of the home. Preliminary charges against the trio include three felony counts: manufacturing meth, possession of meth under three grams and maintaining a common nuisance. They also face a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Phipps and Scott were being held on a $48,000 bond. Couch’s bond was set at $5,000.
