After dropping steadily for the last few weeks, gas prices have shot up ahead of the Christmas holiday.

Gas prices dropped nearly 12-cents over the past few weeks, but the average cost of gasoline nationwide climbed back up to $3.24 Monday.

Consumers can expect to see an increase of five or 10-cents per gallon soon, due to increasing crude oil prices.

Indiana’s average cost of gas was $3.21 Monday.
