Indianapolis Metro Police investigated an apparent armed robbery in the Broad Ripple area late Sunday.

Officers responded to the Union Jack Pub around 11:30 p.m.

According to a public police report, the manager of the pub told police a man put a gun to one of her employees while she was taking out the trash.

The robber then made the employee go inside, forcing her and three other employees to hide in the rear of the pub while the suspect removed $2,600 dollars from safe and cash drawers.

The worker described the suspect as a black male, 25 to 35-years-old, 5’10” 6′ tall with a medium build wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black beanie cap and dark-colored denim jeans.

Anyone with information on this robbery should call CrimeStoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

The pestilence known as "the hood" has finally engulfed Braod Ripple. It was a valent effort keeping the scum south of 65th but you can clearly see the battle is lost. Another 5-6 years homie will be knocking at Carmel's door. Won't be long until hangin at the Crossing will be as common as what's transpired at Circle Center.

There are bad people everywhere. Referring to 'the hood' and calling him a 'homie' just seems ignorant. Carmel has robberies and break-ins already. Just because it doesn't make the news doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It just means that the media is feeding what people want to hear: Carmel is safe, Broad Ripple isn't.

Shouldn't I be feel safe to take the trash out whenever I want? C'mon….that was easily the dumbest thing I've heard someone say all day…
