A mother and her child are reunited after a few hours apart.

IMPD officers responded to the Central Library on reports of a possible child abduction around 12:10 p.m. Sunday.

Arriving officers talked to Rodricia Snow, 18 of Indianapolis. She told officers the non-custodial father took her 5-month-old child following an argument, and she feared for the child’s safety.

Witnesses told police the father, later identified as Robert Norris, 19 of Indianapolis, made statements that alluded to possible child endangerment.

IMPD Missing Persons detectives requested assistance from the IFD Urban Search and Rescue Team.

Around 2:30 p.m. an IMPD officer located Norris and the child a few blocks away from the library.

Both Norris and the infant were unharmed following a check-out by medic.

Detectives arrested Mr. Norris and preliminarily charged him with battery.
