INDIANAPOLIS – A year ago the Colts parted ways will all but one of their assistants in the spirit of rebuilding the franchise.

A year later, at least one assistant will not be in Indianapolis in 2013.

Early Saturday morning the Colts announced that special teams coordinator Marwaan Maalouf will not return to the team. In a release, the Colts say they have “mutually parted ways” with the assistant coach.

Maalouf’s stay in Indianapolis was just one season, hired away from Baltimore in 2012 where he was an assistant special teams coach for four seasons.

He may not be the only Colts’ assistant coach who will call somewhere else home in 2012. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has been mentioned for at least four head coaching jobs after his successful stint as the Colts’ interim head coach in 2012. Filling in for Chuck Pagano, who was receiving treatments for Leukemia, Arians led the Colts to a 9-3 record and helped the team to an AFC Wild Card berth.
