They’re doing something right at Lucas Oil Stadium.

For the second year in a row, the home of the Indianapolis Colts took the top spot in Stadium Journey Magazine’s ranking of “Best Stadium Experiences.” The magazine also picked Lucas Oil as its top venue in last year’s inaugural list.

The magazine bases its rankings of the top 101 stadiums on a variety of factors, including food and beverage selection and price, overall atmosphere, surrounding neighborhood, fans, getting to and from the stadium and bang for your buck. It also awards “bonus points” for signature features.

The magazine came up with the list based on reviews from more than 80 contributors. Ties are settled by user ratings (a stadium’s “Crowd Score”).

Lucas Oil Stadium wasn’t the only Indiana venue to make the list. Notre Dame made the list twice, once for Compton Family Ice Arena (third overall, also honored as “Best of College Hockey”) and again for Notre Dame Stadium (20th overall).

Parkview Field, home of the Fort Wayne Tincaps, placed 14th and earned honors as “Best Minor League Ballpark.”

Indiana’s vaunted basketball tradition also gained recognition, with Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse (26th overall) and Purdue’s Mackey Arena (100th overall) making the list.
