It’s official; this morning is now the coldest morning we have seen in nearly two years. Morning lows fell to 5 degrees this morning making if officially colder than January 2nd of this year. It’s hard to believe that last winter we failed to hit single digits temperatures even once! That isn’t a problem this year as this morning is the third morning this season to see single digit temperatures. We do expect Wednesday morning lows to also dip to single digits as well.
It appears the next week, while there will be some minor ups and downs, will mostly see temperatures below the average for this time of the year. In fact over the next week we will see at least 4 days with temperatures failing to reach 32 degrees. Two of the days where we expect to hit 32° we also see a chance for snow. It’s safe to say this cold snap will continue through next week.
Up until now we have seen very little snow with the latest cold snap and it looks like that is about to change. There will be another chance for snow showers for your Wednesday. Friday will see another round of snow with early estimates putting our snow totals at between 2 – 4 inches. Weekend will remain dry with snow chances returning on Monday with snow turning over to rain during the evening hours. A mix of rain, sleet and snow will be possible on Tuesday.
