18 train cars derail between Girls School and Bridgeport Road

INDIANAPOLIS — A train derailed near Rockville and Girls School roads early Wednesday morning.

Wayne Township Firefighters responded after CSX railroad representatives called 911 to alert dispatchers to a train fire and possible derailment.

When firefighters arrived they found approximately 18 cars off the tracks between Girls School and Bridgeport Road.

All of the cars remained upright and no chemicals or cargo leaked from the train.

No crossings are blocked by the train.

There are no reports of injuries.
