Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck is using his first Pro Bowl as a learning experience. It is easy to soak up knowledge when Luck gets the chance to team up with the man he replaced in Indianapolis, Peyton Manning.

“Obviously you are going to have fun in Hawaii. Anytime you around so many great football players it is kind of an obligation to get better at football,” said Luck.

Manning is the AFC starter while Luck will back him up. The pair go through morning quarterback meetings and have already hit the practice field together. They’ve also gotten the chance to chat about their time in Indianapolis.

“We’ve talked briefly,” Luck said, “about where we live in Indianapolis and the people we know, that kind of thing.”

Luck will be surrounded by familiar faces in Hawaii, he brought Colts back-up quarterback Chandler Harnish along for the trip. Drew Stanton, the 2nd string Colts quarterback, was invited but declined to stay home with his newborn baby. That’s not all Robert Mathis and Reggie Wayne were also selected to the Pro Bowl and Wayne brought the entire Colts receiving corp along with him to Hawaii.

As great as the experience will be for Luck and his teammates they all would prefer to still be working.

“I wish we could be in the Super Bowl and playing but glad to be apart of great franchise and make it into the playoffs. We aren’t satisfied by any means.”
