Indiana State Museum unveils Fred the Mastodon

He’s 13 million years old and is ready to strut his stuff in the Circle City.

Fred the Mastodon was unveiled Thursday at the Indiana State Museum.

He is the most complete mastodon skeleton on display and is part of the Ice Age Giants exhibit.

About 80 percent of Fred’s full skeleton was recovered in Fort Wayne.
