PIKE COUNTY – A 54-year-old man died after a crash in Pike County in which police say another driver blew past a stop sign.

According to Indiana State Police, Joan Pritt, 77, Velpen, was going north on State Road 257 when she failed to stop at the stop sign on State Road 64 Tuesday morning. Her 2006 Toyota Matrix went into the intersection and collided with a semi truck headed east on State Road 64.

After the impact, the truck’s trailer veered into the path of a 2003 Ford Mustang.

The driver of that car, Jerry Aley, 54, Velpen, died at the scene. An air ambulance took Pritt to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. The driver of the semi, Leonard Gogel, 48, Birdseye, was not hurt.
