Police investigate shooting death of Greensburg police officer

GREENSBURG, IND., — Officers with the Greensburg Police Department responded to an apparent shooting Tuesday night.

A caller to 911 alerted dispatchers to a shooting in the 1700 block of North Tyrel West in Greensburg around 8:30 p.m.

Police arrived and found Larry G. Dance, 42, dead at  the scene.

Indiana State Police spokesperson Noel Houze told Fox59 Dance is a member of the Greensburg Police Department.

An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday morning. A cause and manner of death will be determined at that time.

Police told Fox59 the investigation remains active and no information will be released until the autopsy is completed.
