With the popularity of the Palladium and the Arts and Design District in, there’s now talk of bringing a convention center to Carmel!

According to the Indy Star, the city has already hired someone to come in and conduct a study to see if the city should add another facility. The study will answer when, if and how big the center should be built.

The building would cater to conventions that are looking for a place that has more than a banquet center but less than a major convention center.

City officials said there’s a plot of land just north of the Palladium that could house the center.

The also insist that they do not want to compete with Indianapolis.

Just something else Brainard and his buddies will skim off the top of during every step from planning, to construction, to operation. Carmel taxpayers must be very satisfied to keep electing people with delusions of grandeur. They don't mind more taxes enriching their elected officials up there.

This would be a great addition. Right now, small conferences have to go to the Marriott East where visitors are warned not to walk off the property when it is dark. Conferences bring many $$$ to the area to support the local businesses.
