The civil trial against the man who was at the top of Marsh Supermarkets for decades began Monday.

Don Marsh is facing charges of spending millions of dollars on personal items.

The company said he squandered more the $3 million on everything from using the corporate jet to fly girls around to buying expensive hunting boots. Marsh’s attorney said all the expenses are legitimate.

The nine member jury is expected to hear testimony from more than 40 witnesses.

Marsh was the CEO for the supermarket for almost 40 years.

Don Marsh use to be my Boss when i worked for Marsh Warehouse. He was a very nice man hopefully they dont find him guilty of anything

Don Marsh was a very generous man however he was not spending his own money. Former shareholders of Marsh Supermarkets were the victims of his "generosity".

True! I doubt that's how he saw it though! It's easy to tr=hrow around other people's money, isn't it? Must be nice.

I am one of those people that was laid off during that time. I knew it was not fair. So,I hope he gets what he deserves.

Don is a good golfer and gets a shot on every hole even though the game is a stapleford format. Good luck Don. Don't let them push you around. Hope to see you at the Russian ballet when all this is behind you
