Couple escapes Hamilton County house fire

HAMILTON COUNTY, IND. — Fire departments from Hamilton County battled a house fire near Arcadia, Ind. early Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to the 6600 block of East 256th Street around 12:30 a.m.

When they arrived, heavy fire could be see coming from the attic of an old farm-house.

The homeowner told Fox59 was having trouble with a circuit breaker earlier in the evening. After he and his wife finished watching the Super Bowl, they went to sleep. A short time later, one of their two dogs began barking and they noticed smoke in the house.

Firefighters had little water at the start of the fire. They used seven tankers to transport water from the nearest fire hydrant located a few miles away in Arcadia.

A ladder truck from Noblesville was also used.

There were no reported injuries.
