Anderson police locate abducted 6-month-old child; suspect in custody

A man is in custody Tuesday afternoon after police said he abducted his 5-month-old child.

The Anderson Police Department responded to a home in the 3100 block of Autumn Ridge at approximately 3:20 p.m. to take the report.

Police said the man fled the area with the child in a white Honda Civic with California license plates.  The man was located shortly after and detained.

Authorities said the situation is being evaluated and the man is not under arrest at this time.

The child was not harmed.
