Crews began taking down the Pepsi Coliseum’s iconic sign Tuesday.
Pepsi is still a sponsor but the coliseum will be getting a new name next year.
It’s all part of a $63 million renovation project at the State Fairgrounds.
The coliseum’s outside will remain intact, keeping its classic look but the inside will have all new lighting and will be completely modernized.
The new coliseum is scheduled to open in 2014.
