GREENSBURG – A Greensburg automotive supplier is set for a $15.5 million expansion that’s expected to add more than 200 workers by next year.

Valeo, headquartered in France, has made Greensburg its North American regional center for making engine cooling products. According to our newsgathering partners at the Indianapolis Business Journal, the Greensburg facility employs more than 670 people. About a third of those are temporary workers from an employment agency.

The $15.5 million expansion will pay for new equipment that will create production lines for a new engine-cooling product. The company will add more than 200 workers primarily by making current temporary workers into full-time employees.

The Greensburg City Council approved four tax abatements for the machinery earlier this year. The company will save about $500,000 from the abatements, the IBJ reported.
