Accused IU cat torturer due in court in April

BLOOMINGTON – A suspended Indiana University student charged with killing a cat and torturing other animals is due to appear in court in April.

Christopher Gugliuzza is accused of torturing a kitten named Lennox in December 2012 and killing a cat named Misty in October. He also faces a theft charge after police said he stole Lennox from the Bloomington Animal Shelter.

A pretrial conference has been set for April 16.

Gugliuzza was a sophomore majoring in public and environmental affairs at IU. He has been suspended from the university.
