Mini-Marathon enrollment much slower this year

There’s still time to register for this year’s Mini-Marathon.

The May 4 race still has a few thousand spots open before hitting its 35,000 participant capacity.

This year’s race is filling up slower than in year’s past. Organizers said that’s because of a growing interest in running and fitness, which has spurred the creation of several other races.

Registration for the Mini-Marathon costs $75.  You can register online.

Or it could be because the Cincinnati Flying Pig has an anniversary race this year (15th) and people like the anniversary bling.

The race has lost its luster. It used to sell out as early as October but every year for the past several years it's taken longer to sell out.

I blame the crowds. Who wants to walk 2+ miles to the event, run 13.1 miles, then walk back.

    And the prices.
