The 17 and 15-year-old suspects accused in Wednesday’s deadly crime spree are now both waiting to appear in court at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center. IMPD detectives are continuing to investigate the cases.

The 15 year old was expected to appear in court Friday, but the state requested a postponement until Thursday the 21st.

Likely to gather and compile evidence from at least four different crimes scenes.

Outside juvenile court Friday, the parents of the 15-year-old made a public apology to the families affected.

James Edwards said his son knew better.

“My son wasn’t brought up this way. He was brought up in a church and he’s been going to church pretty regular, but when they get to the teens they think they know everything and that’s a problem.”

Edwards also said this has come as a shock to his family. He spoke with his son briefly telling him only to “tell the truth.”

Meantime, the 17-year-old suspect was released from Wishard Hospital and is being held at the juvenile detention center. His first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
