Mayor Greg Ballard announced Monday the rescheduling of his 2013 State of the City address following the deaths of IEMS workers over the weekend.

The mayor will deliver the address on Friday, March 8 at the Alexander Hotel at CityWay at 1 p.m.

Private Timothy McCormick, 24, and Specialist Cody Medley, 22, were killed after a collision early Saturday at the intersection of Senate Avenue and St. Clair Street in downtown Indianapolis.

Investigators said 21-year-old Jade Hammer ran a flashing red light, striking the ambulance and pushing it onto its side. She told officers she was distracted by a GPS device, but also admitted to having a few drinks a few hours prior to the crash.

Hammer was transported to the hospital, where police took a blood draw. She was released pending the investigation and the results of the blood test.

A memorial service is planned for both Medley and McCormick Wednesday, February 20 at 10 a.m. The service will be held at Clowes Memorial Hall on the Butler University campus. The public is invited to attend.
