State leaders are speaking out about the newly approved budget that passed in the House Monday night.

Tuition support will rise by nearly $350 million in the proposed budget. The state will spend an additional $250 million a year on roads and bridges as well. About $40 million in new annual funding will go to the Department of Child Services.

The budget now goes to the Senate, which will pass its own version.

Lawmakers will negotiate a final budget bill in April.
