Four Hoosiers make Forbes’ list of top billionaires

Forbes has released their list of the world’s top billionaires and four Hoosiers have made the cut.

The top Hoosier is Gayle Cook. The widow of William Cook is worth $4 billion and ranks 329. Pacers owner Herb Simon is 670th with a worth of $2.2 billion. Crown Point businessman Dean White ranks 831st with $1.8 billion.

Colts owner Jim Irsay saw his fortune increase to $1.5 billion last year and nowranks 974th.

The world’s top billionaire is Carlos Slim from Mexico. This is the fourth straight year he has topped the list.

His fortune went from $69 billion last year to this year’s 73-billion.

Bill Gates is second.

      What I find interesting however are two of the city's sports moguls are on the list.

      But when the chips are down they'll strangle the city and tax payers for more $$$ to keep their pet projects (Pacers and Colts) afloat when they could easily do so with a stroke of a pen and checkbook.
