Kindergartener facing battery charges after punching teacher, police say

A 7-year-old is facing preliminary charges for battery after allegedly punching a teacher in the nose.

Officers said the kindergarten student was in class at a North Indiana school when the incident happened.

The school said the child has a history of ADHD and autism. The mother said the teacher provoked her son which is why he punched her.

The prosecutor will decide whether the child will be formally charged.
