Two shot near west side gas station

INDIANAPOLIS — Detectives investigated a shooting that sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning.

Metro police responded to the 2800 block of Lafayette Road around 2:20 a.m. Once on scene, they found a man inside a gold Chevrolet Colbalt suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

He told police he was shot at the Speedway Gas Station near West 34th Street & Lafayette Road.

Minutes after arriving on the 2800 block of Lafayette Road police dispatchers put out a second call of a person shot at the same Speedway Gas Station.

At the gas station police found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

She was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital. The male victim was transported to Wishard Hospital. Both were transported in stable condition.

Police are looking for a vehicle with possible front-end damage.
