Congratulations are in order for Indiana’s 43rd governor.

Former Gov. Edgar Whitcomb married his long-time girlfriend, Evelyn, on Feb. 16, the couple announced Wednesday.

Edgar, 95, and Evelyn, 83, met 12 years ago during a computer class.

The couple decided to wed on a whim. Two friends who were married at the Whitcomb residence were visiting to mark their five year anniversary when Edgar and Evelyn decided to take the leap themselves.

A minister down the road from the Whitcombs performed the ceremony.
