Notre Dame to honor Cardinal Timothy Dolan

Notre Dame is awarding an honorary degree to one of the men who could be the next pope.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York will be the commencement speaker in May.

Dolan is the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and one of the best known religious figures in the nation.

Notre Dame’s president has called him a man of great intelligence, personal warmth and a “dedicated shepherd” of the church.
