Anderson Police shot a man they say tried to run an officer over with a car.

Dustin Roy Anderson, 32, was shot in the left side in the 2700 block of Fountain Street early Saturday morning, after he drove toward officers with his 1997 Chevy Cavalier.  The incident occurred shortly after 1:20 a.m.

Anderson police were searching a garage at that location for a suspect involved in a separate incident involving a burglary and domestic battery.

When officers attempted to make contact with those inside the garage, an odor associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine was detected.  While attempting to make contact with persons inside the garage, Dustin Anderson drove his car through the garage door in the direction of officers surrounding the building, knocking one to the ground.

That’s when another officer fired shots at the car, hitting Anderson.

He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

After that incident, officers went into the garage, which was used as a lab to manufacture methamphetamine.

Police also arrested Krista Stansberry, 31, for Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
