An Indiana House committee has unanimously approved a bill to help Hoosier veterans pursue higher education.

The so-named “combat-to-college” bill would require universities to create a separate office to help veterans. The offices would offer help with financial aid, job searching and would offer counseling for veterans diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Senate has already passed the bill. If the full House approves it, Governor Pence could sign it into law as soon as next week.
