INDIANAPOLIS – Emergency crews are investigating after a body was found in the water on the near west side.

According to investigators, a construction worker spotted the body Tuesday afternoon near West 10th Street and North White River Parkway. A dive team was called to the area. The body was about five feet from shore in water that was three or four feet deep.

Investigators believe the body is that of a male. Decomposition made it difficult for them to determine much else, including age or race.

Crews turned the body over to the coroner after removing it from the water. They don’t know if the person suffered any type of trauma or drowned.
