COLUMBUS – A drunk man who didn’t know how he’d arrived at a Columbus car dealership—not to mention how he got a large cut on his arm—did the only thing he could think of to get some answers: call police.

According to Columbus police, William Hendershot, 32, ended up at Renner Motors on Central Avenue but couldn’t remember how he got there. He called police in hopes of clearing things up.

Hendershot told investigators he’d been drinking at Caddie’s Pub and left early Saturday morning once the business had closed. He called police when he realized that Renner Motors had been broken into and didn’t remember if he’d been involved.

Police said Hendershot had a blood-alcohol level of .119. He also had a 6-inch cut on his arm.

He was booked on several charges, including burglary, criminal mischief and public intoxication.
