HENDRICKS COUNTY, IND. — Indiana State Police have released the identities of two men who died following a crash at a rest stop near Lizton early Wednesday morning.

David Antoine Tarpy, 28, and Brad Alan Morrison, 30, were both killed when their car slammed into a semi-truck. Both men are from Neosho, Mo.

Police said Tarpy was driving a 2004 Pontiac on I-74 when he lost control of the vehicle around mile marker 56 near the Lizton rest stop on the westbound side. Police responded around 3:05 a.m.

The car went under the truck’s trailer, initially trapping Tarpy and Morrison. They died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was asleep and wasn’t injured. Fire officials said the semi was parked just inside the marked ramp parking area for the rest area.

Police said snow falling in the area could have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Very sad. One never knows when your time will be up! I'm sure these two men did not expect they would never return to their home again.
