IUPUI’s chancellor released a statement Tuesday, thanking several agencies for their help investigating a possible armed suspect on campus.

“These officers responded quickly and conducted a thorough investigation to ensure the safety of the campus,” Chancellor Charles R. Bantz said. “I am pleased the incident ended without harm to any member of the campus community or visitors to IUPUI.”

Bantz also thanked staff and students for following instructions during the incident.

A woman reported seeing a man with a gun around 12:30 p.m. IUPUI, Crispus Attucks, IU Health and Riley Children’s Hospital at IU Health were all placed on lockdown.

The all-clear was given shortly after 5 p.m. Evening classes were held as usual.

I'm still glad they took it seriously, though. Just imagine if it had been a psycho wanting to kill anything that moved. Too many people, including myself, have family who attend classes there, & the area is so densely populated, it could've easily been a disaster.

Live and learn. No one got hurt and local law enforcement will be better prepared next time.

And since when is having a gun illegal in Indiana? What makes him a "suspect" if no laws were broken?
