Police: Jennings Co. man arrested for beating man with rolling pin

JENNINGS COUNTY—A North Vernon man was arrested after police said he severely beat a man using a rolling pin.

Officers with the North Vernon Police Department responded to the 400 block of Greensburg Street on a report of an assault.  When they arrived, they located a 23-year-old man covered in blood with injuries to his head, hand and back.

Police said the suspect, 45-year-old Brian Edmondson, had already fled the residence by the time they arrived.  He was located early the next morning and arrested on charges including battery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Class D felony, and intimidation, a Class A misdemeanor.

The victim was transported to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital for treatment.
