A Lafayette man was arrested in Arkansas early Friday morning in connection with the death of his children’s mother.

Misael Sanchez, 32, was charged with murder.

Thursday, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a home in the 3700 block of McCarty Lane, where they located 25-year-old Marisol Arze-Lujan, who was deceased.

Authorities began searching for Sanchez after he and the three children, ages 1, 7 and 8, were missing.  They were all located in Clark County, Ark. around 4:30 a.m. Friday.

The three children were turned over to Department of Child Services, and plans are underway to return the children to family members.

An autopsy for Arze-Lujan has been scheduled to determine the cause and manner of her death.
