A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Central Indiana counties until noon Monday.  The watch will go into effect beginning Sunday morning at 8 a.m.

Heavy snowfall is expected Sunday, with snow accumulation possibly topping 10 inches of snow in some places.

Snow is expected to enter the area early Sunday morning, and a snow and rain mix is possible in areas across southern portions of Central Indiana.

Monday morning, snowfall is expected to lighten, but it is expected to continue with the potential for additional light accumulations.

Wind gusts of 25 to 30 mph are expected to accompany the snow Sunday afternoon and evening.  Power outages are expected with the wet snow and gusty winds.  Please be prepared for extended hours of possible electrical outages.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution when traveling in these weather conditions, as roads may becomes impassable due to heavy snowfall and reduce visibility.

THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!

Now EVERYONE RUN out and buy up ALL of the toilet paper and all of the milk, bread etc. before it hits, you might be in the house TWO days before they plow you out. That is if it even snows.

The Weather Channel says "snow possible" up to a inch. I get tired of the alarmist weather people
    who are only occasionally right.

I would probably say they are wrong more times then they are right. If I was that wrong in my job-I would be fired ! ! ! !

  • let it snow......

Who cares…let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…..or you can move to Florida and deal with the hurricanes every year.

Same old bs line we have heard for the last 6 years, I removed the plow off my truck 2 days ago and will not get it back out unless i see at least 3 inches of snow.
I have a friend that has spent so much money on false alarms from 59 and purchased salt for his spreader.
If you don't know what the weather is going to do just admit it 59.

"as roads may becomes impassable due to heavy snowfall and reduce visibility"
    IPS strikes again!!!!!

I remember being at the grocery store and hearing a young lady speaking to her husband in a panicked tone "I just don't know what we're going to do; they're out of bread!" I mean, really, have they never heard of flour, eggs, water, etc?

Funny how the forecasters are saying 100 percent chance of snow tomorrow but it's still just an "advisory". Depending on what channel you watch or the NWS it could be from nothing to over a foot. Still not very accurate at weather predicting even in 2013. The only actual way to know the weather is to go outside and look…..Just now on Fox 59 they are saying "stay ahead of the storm", don't even go to the store and try to buy milk or bread people are freaking out, again!

Stay tuned to FOX 59's "Chicken Little" weather service for more details on how we're all going to DIE!

  • Historic Snow?

Last night on the weather news you said there had only been two other times the Indy area had 4+ inches of snow in March or April: 1912 and 1897. I remember in March 1961 when my parents were moving across-town Anderson, that they got one load moved and came back to a 5 ft. drift in front of the first house's garage. They shoveled it, loaded a 2nd time, unloaded at the new house, and were stranded by snow for a day. Surely that was more than 4 inches??? I'd love to find out how much snow Anderson really got then.

its a heart attack snow meaning its gonna be so heavy. pay the plow truck guys to move it. Well worth 30-40 $ in some areas.

Anyone else think it's funny that they send reporters out to stand in the snow to tell us it's snowing. Don't we all have windows? Everyone complaining about this winter but it has one of the mildest in along time.

First of all 10 inches is not a lot of snow. There are 12 inches on a ruler. Has anyone ever stood the ruler next to a tire? Oh here is a good one… how about drive slow and leave an hour early and leave plenty of space between cars. The lights being out and not having heat would be the worse part of it, but seeing as how I see people out in flip flops with no socks in the winter, and just North Face Fleeces… I guess some would be okay without the heat. These are definitely not blizzard conditions. 10 inches.. ha! that's barely enough to build a snowman or sled without reaching grass. Have fun and enjoy the season changes, its beautiful! Oh and come on people… we have had snow in April before, the weather does what God wants it to do, Thank God.

That's thank God with a smile! Thank Him for this is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalms 118:24 🙂 I hope that my post can stay up and doesn't get shut down… seems like any time a Christian has a good post about our beliefs here lately, someone being offended comes into play. Oh well, have a wonderful snow filled spring day Indy.
