The nationwide gun control debate is creating new jobs.

Demand for guns and ammunition has surged in the last few months as the Sandy Hook school shooting sparked a national conversation on gun control.

Some gun manufacturers are scrambling to find enough workers. One expert said the industry employs about 240,000 people nationwide.

Many of the new jobs are temporary, contract jobs, since the companies don’t know how long the surge in demand will last, though.
