Some young Hoosiers got a first-hand look at our political process Monday.
Kids with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization visited the Indiana Statehouse to learn what it takes to be a lawmaker.
The annual Page Day event gives them the opportunity to become more active in the political process.
They toured the offices of the governor, the Indiana House and Senate and the Indiana Supreme Court.
“They dress up, they show up, they learn a lot about government and as a result they are better prepared to be involved in their own communities,” said Darcy Palmer.
Big Brothers, Big Sisters also takes advantage of the day by teaching politicians more about the important organization.
