INDIANAPOLIS – Nearly 200 employers are lined up for a job fair intended to help Hoosier veterans find jobs.

The Seventh Annual “Operation Hire a Hoosier Veteran” Job Fair is Wednesday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

The event is sponsored by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. All service members and veterans are encouraged to attend the event. Those who plan to go should pre-register online. Organizers ask that you bring a photo ID to the job fair.

“Hoosier veterans bring a unique set of skills, leadership capabilities and experience that can translate into valuable, hardworking employees,” said Sen. Dan Coats, who’s taking part in a public awareness campaign about the job fair. “With nearly 200 employers in attendance, this outstanding event will provide a venue for veterans and employers to connect. I encourage all interested Hoosier veterans to attend.”

Have been trying to get my retired Navy 2-tour daughter to come home to Indiana. I've told her she could stay with me but she doesn't want to come without a job. Any suggestions? She's currently working in administration at the shipyards in Newport News and has received top raises since her employment there. She's very conscientious and extremely patriotic. I would like her home in the same capacity that she enjoys in current job.
