Drivers going through Boone County should be aware of a traffic pattern shift from State Road 39 to State Road 52. Starting later Monday, drivers traveling northbound on Interstate 65 will be shifted to the outside shoulder and low speed lanes, while southbound I-65 traffic will move to the newly constructed inside shoulder.
The construction project, when completed in late July, will add an additional travel lane in each direction, along with the rebuilding of the S.R. 39 bridge over I-65 and the I-65 bridge over Prairie Creek and the rehabilitation of the bridge over Lafayette Avenue.
State and local police will also be increasing their presence in the work zone to help cut down on speeding and accidents. The three year, $41 million project is all part of the ongoing major moves construction in Indiana.
