Update (June 24, 2016)– John White was found not guilty of all six charges against him.

Original story:

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested an employee of a MSD Pike Township middle school on child molestation charges.

John White, 27, was preliminarily charged with two counts of child molesting.

Authorities began their investigation into White, a part-time instructional assistant of Lincoln Middle School, after a mother reported her 13-year-old son was sexually abused.

Police said the alleged abuse occurred at the suspect’s home over the past several months and did not happen on school grounds.  When interviewed by police, White admitted the 13-year-old student slept at his home approximately 10 times, according to the police report.  The report also stated White admitted to buying the teenager an iPod and included the boy’s cell phone service on his payment plan.  However, White denied any sexual contact with the teen.

White’s two teenage foster sons were removed from his home by the Department of Child Services.

IMPD continues to investigate the incident.  They ask anyone with information to contact police at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.
