IMPD and the Department of Homeland security are working together to keep you safe.

The Mobile Field Force spent Wednesday afternoon training for large events.  The group specializes in crowd control during riots, demonstrations and other large, catastrophic events.

Indy is no stranger to big events, like the Super Bowl and the Indiana State Fair stage collapse.

“It’s one of the standard things that if you don’t train on the skills you kind of lose the skills so we like to keep everyone as sharp as we can,” said Lt. Brian Bethel.

The goal of events like this one and others this week is to equip more than 100  officers for any and everything.
