Lightning strikes ramp, damages nearby airplane at airport

Airport fire crews were called to the scene after lightning struck a ramp, which damaged a nearby airplane around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say they believe the nearby Airbus 319 was damaged due to debris from the ramp being thrown against the plane when it was struck by lightning.

There were no injuries reported, but there is no word on the extent of damage to the plane.
