IPS student reports attempted abduction

INDIANAPOLIS – A student says she was approached by a man who asked her to get into his vehicle Thursday morning.

The female student goes to Indianapolis Public Schools George Washington High School. She said a man approached her around 7 a.m. in a small, white SUV near Addison and Ohio streets. The girl said the man asked her if she wanted or needed a ride to school. After she refused and moved away from the SUV, the man drove off.

The girl reported the incident to IPS Police and said the man was 50 years old with dark black hair. IPS is investigating the case with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Anyone with information should call (317) 226-4633.
