WESTFIELD – Westfield Middle School was evacuated Monday morning after someone saw smoke coming from the ceiling.

The smoke originated from a motor in the ceiling air system—there were no flames or fire. Students were taken to the intermediate school, which is on the same property. Fire crews arrived to check the school.

Firefighters have now left and students are back in the building. There were no injuries and the evacuation was a precautionary move.
