A former IMPD police lieutenant has been sentenced in connection with a drunken driving hit-and-run case.

Michael Rinehart pleaded guilty to hitting a construction worker with his truck and then speeding off. The accident happened last June. That worker wasn’t seriously hurt.

As part of his sentence, Rinehart will spend 120 days on home detention.

He’ll also be on probation, must complete 40 hours of community service and will have his license suspended.
