A man accused of gunning down a decorated veteran outside a Danny’s restaurant pleaded not guilty Monday.

Leonard Bond is charged with murder for the death of Mario Wilson over the weekend.

Wilson and his girlfriend were having breakfast with family when Bond sat near their table.  Witnesses said Bond started making insulting remarks before leaving.

Police said when Bond came back, Wilson stepped outside to keep him from re-entering the restaurant.

Three shots were fired before other customers wrestled Bond to the ground.

Bond also faces a charge of carrying a handgun without a license.
