Firefighter injured in Plainfield apartment fire

Fire crews were called to the Gladden Farms Apartments, near the Metropolis Mall in Plainfield Saturday for a working apartment fire.

The fire broke out in the 300 block of Country Lane, around 5 p.m. Saturday causing at least $100,000 worth of damage.

Plainfield Police, Hendricks County Sheriff and Plainfield Fire units were working to make sure all occupants of the building had been evacuated.

Witnesses on the scene say the roof of the building collapsed due to the fire.

Officials say a firefighter sustained a minor injury due to the fire.

There is no cause of the fire at this point.
